The Office of Title IX Compliance and the Center for Woman & Gender Equity invite you to participate in Denim Day by swapping your usual work attire for your favorite pair of jeans. Denim Day is a global event aimed at showing solidarity with victims of sexual assault and challenging the harmful attitudes that contribute to rape culture. This international symbol of protest began in 1999 in reaction to the Italian Supreme Court overturning a rape conviction, claiming that the victim’s jeans were too tight to be taken off without her help –therefore, her sexual assault was deemed consensual. In response, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in protest, sparking the Denim Day movement that continues to stand for justice and awareness today. We’ll also be hosting a Denim Decorating Party! Stop by Lupton Hall Commons Area between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to get creative by decorating denim with empowering messages and symbols or making fun denim-themed crafts. It’s a fun and impactful way to show your support and raise awareness while connecting with others. We hope to see you there and clickHERE for more info

STILL UNDECIDED? ADD BUSINESS AND RELIGION TO YOUR OPTIONS
The UTC Philosophy and Religion Department is launching a new concentration in Business, Religion and Society in fall 2025—the only program of its kind in Tennessee. This concentration helps students develop real-world leadership and problem-solving skills by exploring how business, ethics and belief systems intersect in careers that make an impact. With courses in faith-driven entrepreneurship, nonprofit management and ethical decision-making, this concentration prepares you for roles in ministry, social impact organizations, values-based investing and mission-driven business. It’s a flexible, career-focused option that adds value to your degree while keeping your options open.
