The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga celebrated the achievements of its faculty at a recognition ceremony held Tuesday, April 22, in the Wolford Family Athletic Center. The event honored faculty members for their excellence in scholarship and teaching, with awards presented by the Faculty Awards Committee of the Faculty Senate.
UTC chancellor finalists to participate in public forums
Finalists have been selected in the search for the next chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The finalists are scheduled to visit Chattanooga the week of April 28 to meet with faculty, staff, students and key community leaders. They will also participate in campus public forum sessions.
‘Now and forever’: UTC, Chattanooga celebrate Mocs basketball team’s NIT title
On Thursday, April 17, the Mocs men’s basketball team was celebrated in grand fashion with a downtown Chattanooga parade that culminated in a rally at Miller Park. The event brought together students, alums, faculty and community members to honor the team’s historic postseason run—which ended with UTC’s first-ever NIT title.
UTC to introduce changes to academic calendar starting in 2026
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is making a significant shift in its academic calendar, with changes set to begin in spring 2026 as part of a transition to a new long-term structure.
Expansion of UTC’s Gary W. Rollins College of Business breaks ground
The current home of the Gary W. Rollins College of Business broke ground on an 81,000-square-foot expansion to Fletcher Hall on Monday, March 3. Located at the corner of McCallie Avenue and Douglas Street, the four-story addition will complement the existing building by connecting all four stories, expanding on the north side of the building facing away from McCallie Avenue.
“Chatting with the Chancellor” monthly series to debut on WUTC
WUTC-FM 88.1, UTC’s public radio station, is set to launch a series of monthly one-on-one conversations with Interim Chancellor Robert Dooley. “Chatting with the Chancellor” will air on WUTC’s “Scenic Roots” at 3 p.m. ET on the third Tuesday of each month beginning Jan. 21. Episodes will also be available on demand through the WUTC website, app and wherever podcasts are found.
