Constitution Day event scheduled Sept. 21: OBAMACOURTS
Constitution Day will be observed Monday, September 21, at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga when the Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Nonprofit Management hosts “OBAMACOURTS.” This event will be held from noon-1:45 p.m. at the Raccoon Mountain Room, UTC University Center. This event is free and open to the public.
Health and Human Performance faculty assist Guatemala physicians
Drs. Gary Wilkerson and Marisa Colston have established a professional relationship with sports medicine physicians and physiotherapists in Guatemala. Last summer the UTC Health and Human Performance professor and associate professor visited the country in a trip coordinated by Athletes in Action, a sports ministry headquartered in Ohio.

University endorses Stand visioning effort
The University is endorsing Stand, a community visioning effort for the Chattanooga region. Stand’s mission is to engage community members to express their ideas for the future, organize around common purposes and translate vision into action.
Artist, illustrator Barry Moser to speak on campus
World-renowned artist, illustrator, and 1993 UTC Distinguished Alumnus Barry Moser will speak on September 17 at 7 p.m. in the UTC University Center Auditorium. He will address “The Livery of Art: Seeing, Believing, and Chalk.” The talk is free and open to the public.
Nigerian delegation visits campus
Twenty-two Akwa Ibom state legislators from Nigeria participated in a Legislative Workshop at the University, sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences. The UTC Department of Political Science and Public Administration hosted the event and provided speakers.
Environmental justice leader to speak in Hunter Lecture Series
Activist and environmental leader, Majora Carter, will be the next speaker in the 2009 George T. Hunter Lecture Series on September 15 at UTC. Carter is a leader in the environmental justice and green‐collar job movements.
University, Unum partner with Girls Inc. of Chattanooga
Dr. Claire McCullough challenged a group of students in Girls Incorporated of Chattanooga to consider what life would be like without cell phones, television, x-ray machines, microwave ovens, computers, jumbo jets and video games. The professor was really asking what life would be like without the influence of Engineering or Computer Science.
